Altar Boys

Altar boys are allowed to enter the Holy Altar by receiving the blessing from the priest. The Holy Sanctuary is a very sacred place in the church, and it is an honor to be able to serve inside. Altar boys can assist the priest by performing various duties such as light candles, hold crosses and lanterns during processions, prepare the censer, and hold baskets of antidoron. Altar boys must carry themselves in a respectful way and be ready to serve. The honor of being an Altar boy creates an opportunity to grow in the Orthodox Faith while also making many fond memories with their peers and priest.
